Our oral surgery experts, Dr. Christopher King, DDS, MD and Dr. Udunka, bring advanced surgical skill and compassionate care to each patient’s treatment. Dr. Nathan Coughlin

Dr. Nathan Coughlin is a Canadian born orthodontist who is passionate about making beautiful and straight smiles. His enthusiasm is contagious to his patients and dental team alike, and his strong work ethic delivers amazing results for his patients.

Throughout his whole life, Dr. Nathan excelled in his pursuits and had a great time doing it. Not only is he a gifted scholar but he is also a talented athlete and all-around strong leader. He played College level basketball and was a star player on his team, earning him the Academic all Canadian award twice.

After graduating at the top of his class, Dr. Nathan went on to graduate school at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, where he met his wife, Dr. Christine Coughlin. There, he continued to achieve academic success and pursued his dream of becoming an orthodontist.

During his time at USC, Dr. Nathan served in third world countries like Honduras, where he and his dental team provided dental care to disadvantaged areas. He graduated from USC with honors and was presented the “Outstanding Orthodontic Achievement Award” and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Award for outstanding academic achievement. He also co-founded the Student Professionalism and Ethics Club at USC, where students are provided a platform to discuss how to improve the ethics and moral values in dentistry.

During his time furthering his career as an orthodontist, Dr. Nathan continued additional rigorous training to become a Diplomate of Orthodontics, which is an honor given to a select few orthodontists in the country.

Luca Sfogliano

Dr. Luca Sfogliano was born and raised in Catania, Italy. He graduated from the University of Catania with honors and received his doctoral degree. He pursued his dream to become an orthodontist in the United States attending UCLA to receive his postgraduate training in Orthodontics and his master in Oral Biology. Dr. Luca is a proud member of the American Association of Orthodontics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Developing trust and meaningful relationships with his patients is one of his favorite things about being an Orthodontist. He strives to uphold these relationships with respect, transparency and communication and leave a positive impact on their smiles and their lives. Some of his favorite things besides making smiles include spending time with family, playing sports, traveling and trying new foods.

Dr. Raamis Hirani

Dr. Hirani is an orthodontic specialist who takes pride in providing evidence-based care in a fun and comfortable environment. Dr. Hirani was drawn to orthodontics because he loves seeing the confidence a new smile instills in his patients. He believes that orthodontics is an art, and his goal is to help his patients achieve a smile that is esthetic, functional, and stable.

Raised in Oklahoma City, Dr. Hirani attended the University of Oklahoma for undergrad where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. Dr. Hirani then moved to Dallas to attend the Texas A&M College of Dentistry where he graduated amongst the top of his class. Dr. Hirani pursued his Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Orthodontics at Saint Louis University – one of the oldest and most recognized programs in the country.

In his spare time, Dr. Hirani enjoys traveling, hiking, and trying new restaurants – he hopes to visit all 50 states before he’s 50. Dr. Hirani is also an avid sports fan and can be found cheering on his Sooners on Saturdays (Boomer!).

Dr. Stephanie Weng

Orthodontists

Dr. Stephanie Weng was born in Taiwan and grew up in Plano, TX. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. She then moved to Cleveland, OH, and obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Case Western Reserve University. Upon graduation, she was inducted to the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society for being in the top of her class. Dr. Weng went on to study Orthodontics at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York, NY where she received a Masters degree in Orthodontics. In her third and final year of residency, she served as chief resident and was awarded the Thomas J. Cangialosi award, which was given to her for excellence in clinical performance and finishing in Orthodontics.

To provide the best quality of care for her patients and to further address patients’ questions of orthodontic treatments, Dr. Weng always educates herself with the most updated technology and attends conferences and courses of continuing education. During residency, she underwent orthodontic treatment herself to better understand and learn the potential concerns and issues that may come from patients. After all, it is her passion to not only transform patients’ smiles to perfection, but to also ensure to provide the best experiences for patients throughout treatments. Dr. Weng is now back in Plano with her husband and 12-year-old exotic shorthair cat, Chubby. In her free time, she loves traveling and is a foodie, who always gets a little too excited when it comes to delicious food. She also enjoys cooking and baking in her spare time.

Ramon E. Torrado, DMD

Broad Certified Pedodontist

Born in Puerto Rico and equipped with a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Syracuse University in Upstate New York, Dr. Ramon E. Torrado furthered their education at the University of Puerto Rico, obtaining a Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree. Additionally, he completed a two-year residency program in pediatric dentistry, solidifying Dr. Torrado’s dedication to the well-being of our youngest community members. Now rooted in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Torrado focuses on pediatric patients and offers a spectrum of services. From oral prophylaxis and dental restorations to space management, oral conscious sedation, and in-office general anesthesia, Dr. Torardo ensures a holistic approach to pediatric dental care. What sets Dr. Torrado apart is not just the commitment to a single community; he also travels to different offices, reaching out to children in Dallas, El Paso, and San Antonio.



Dr. Torrado is an avid fan of NBA basketball games, particularly those featuring the Mavericks. He loves to explore new places, embracing the joys of travel and road trips. As a gastronomy enthusiast, Dr. Torrado enjoys trying different cuisines and finds joy in the simple pleasures of eating and sharing a drink. Above all, Dr. Torrado cherishes spending quality time with their wife, family, and friends.

Christopher King, DDS, MD

Dr. Christopher King is a board-certified, dual-degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. King grew up Euless, Tx and then graduated from Texas A&M University magna cum laude with a BA in Biology.

Dr. King earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Baylor College of Dentistry and was then accepted into their six-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency. During that time, Dr. King also earned his medical doctorate (MD) at Texas Tech University Health Science Center and completed a general surgery internship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He then completed the broad-certification process through the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery which involves a rigorous examination process testing his knowledge of the clinical and surgical practices involved specifically.

Dr. King is also a member of various dental societies, such as the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Udunka

Oral Surgery

Dr. Udunka was born in Atlanta, GA. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry from
Xavier University in New Orleans, LA. After college he became a Research Chemist for the Centers for
Disease Control & Prevention in Atlanta, GA. He is a proud alumnus of Meharry Medical College School
of Dentistry in Nashville, TN. After graduation Dr. Udunka moved to Dallas, Texas for his postgraduate
residency training.

He completed both the AEGD residency program and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
fellowship at Texas A&M College of Dentistry (formerly Baylor College of Dentistry). Dr. Udunka holds
the level of Masterships in both the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics and International
Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Udunka is actively involved in dental organizations such as the
ADA, TDA, and DCDS. Dr. Udunka’s scope of dentistry is primarily oral surgery and implantology. He
believes in being a compassionate dentist always willing to optimize the patient experience.

Most importantly Dr. Udunka is a loving husband to his beautiful wife Chioma. They have four children
together whose names are Simeon III, Isaiah, Malachi, and baby daughter Chizara. They enjoy traveling
entertaining, and spending time with family. They are both actively involved in the community and have
a firm belief in positive affirmation.

Meet Dr. Jason Chen, your trusted dentist with a passion for excellence and a personal touch. Dr. Chen’s journey began at the University at Buffalo, setting the stage for his dedication to superior dental care. In 2019, he proudly earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from New York University College of Dentistry, followed by a General Practice Residency in 2020.

Beyond the dental chair, Dr. Jason Chen is a connoisseur of life’s pleasures. He enjoys exploring new restaurants, adding culinary gems to his list of favorites. As an avid cook, he finds joy in experimenting with flavors in his own kitchen. Dr. Jason Chen’s love for travel takes him to new corners of the world, soaking in diverse cultures and experiences.
